Hello! 

I’m Ms. Valdez, the librarian here at Orange Elementary. I’m also a proud student at UC Irvine, majoring in Criminology, Law, and Society. I joined the Orange Elementary family in May of 2024 and quickly fell in love with the vibrant culture and supportive community that makes our school so special.

At Orange, the library is truly the heart of our campus; a safe, welcoming space where all students are encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow. I believe every child deserves access to stories that reflect who they are, as well as opportunities to learn about the world beyond their own experiences. Libraries serve as both mirrors and windows: reflecting students’ identities and offering insight into diverse cultures and perspectives.

Each week, I look forward to sharing read-alouds with our students and leading STEM-focused activities that inspire curiosity and creativity. Whether it’s diving into a new book or building something hands-on, there’s always something exciting happening in the library.

I’m honored to support our students on their journey to becoming lifelong readers, learners, and thinkers.
